Okay, I knew it supported ligatures and stuff, I didn't think they were limited to single/double width.
This is a bit harder than it sounds, but only a bit. There will be regular (not ligature, not double-width) glyphs that are slightly larger than cell size, so you'd need a fancier oversize-glyph-pieces atlas, and a way to have multiple (at least 8+1) glyphs affect a single cell.
