@cmuratori I saw your rant on Visual Studio. Why not just use a different IDE?
I actually have no complaints with Electron itself. I think they did a reasonable job packaging up a pretty sprawling mess into something anyone can easily use. I don't like node.js, Javascript, CSS, or HTML, but none of those are the Electron team's fault!

So easy that anyone can use a couple gigs of ram for a basic app on my computer :(

Nothing the browser wasn't already going to do if it were a website :) And hey, if they fixed Chrome, then magically Electron wouldn't do that anymore!

HTML is a terrible paradigm for rich UI and now devs think running a browser in their app and using it to render a basic UI is a good idea. I don't think a lot of people realize how simple a performant UI library is. And devs seem to think it's genius.

Sure! I'm just saying, don't blame the Electron team :) All they're doing is ensuring the browser is bundled with the site, so you don't have compatibility problems. That's a good thing! Switching everyone off web technology entirely would be great, but, good luck with that :(
