I’m not a fan of C#, there are some ugly things under the hood, but it can be better than C++ for non-systems programming and doesn’t really need to be much slower. Same goes for Java. Web tech is still orders of magnitude worse. It is all about competence and quality control IMO

I don't think the C# was the problem, I think the rewrite was the problem, and/or the people doing the rewrite :) C# probably didn't help but it is obviously possible to make it not be as bad as Visual Studio.

Seems like a lost cause. Remedy looks great for debugging, that does leave text editing. My main wants are decent code completion, and that kind of highlighting where functions/locals/parameters etc can all have different colours. Not sure I'll ever escape VS at work though
