Whenever anyone says, "Use an existing engine, don't reinvent the wheel," you know they don't know what they're talking about because wheels go on the bottom of the car. The engine doesn't even go there, it goes in the front under the hood.

Love what you and Blow are doing, but I feel like most of the time the "use an existing engine" argument is for new comers, specially designers, that just want to build a game not software 🤷‍♂️

(I am totally fine with people using existing engines, actually. Definitely _not_ fine with people trying to tell other people not to make new engines, though!)

LOL we haven’t even invented the software equivalent of a wheel yet. Let alone, reinventing it.

One early "engine" I made I called wheels and I didn't realize the car metaphor until now. (it was so called because, being python, you just added random objects to a wheel each frame)

Use public transportation. There's absolutely no reason for anyone to have their own car.
