I'm not sure if they're still pushing out changes(or this is just a forecast of what is to come), but checked mine and it seems to still be working off just client id. Nonsense to begin with... used to have a public api with such a feature...

now I just check if https://api.twitch.tv/helix/streams?user_login=handmade_hero … returns {"data":[],"pagination":{}} (if so it's offline)
