PSA: @itchio's web site doesn't actually work if you have third party cookies disabled, and it does not handle errors properly. So anyone who tries to purchase a product with TPCs blocked will instead be told their "card was declined", even though no charge was attempted.

So basically the answer is, Stripe invasively monitors your web activity and uses what it sees to determine whether to accept your card or not? And that's why their service doesn't work if you turn off cookies? If so, that is worse than incompetence...
