I gave up on apple some time ago. I've been ranting about it quite enough. I didn't give up any income by doing so, though, so ymmv.

I'm kind of fascinated by how apparently absurd the Apple certificate/signing/provisioning systems are. I don't have experience with that, per se, but I have experience with UX/UI and it comes across to me like a system that came straight from a programmer's first implementation.

I am already at a point where I wouldn't choose to make an application for mac/ios. Apple simply doesn't respect the developers making the software. Why should we grovel to them?

Went thru it a few years back, pretty ridiculous.
-
Went through it a few days ago; it's much worse now, there's a new notarization process and you have to set up Hardened Runtime which requires manually specifying entitlements.

I gave up on the whole iOS/mac walled dumpster. They can have it. I installed Windows on my macbook and haven't looked back.

Yeah, the whole code signing process is a mess. Imagine that it is now an order of magnitude better than what it used to be just a few years ago. Let that sink in

-
It is definitely not better - it is much worse. Previously you did not have to _also_ notarize builds. Signing them is no longer sufficient as of this month.

Well be prepared for it to get worse! Everything about actually getting an app signed for iOS is a chore, it almost gets worse as you get to the point of device signing in xcode..... Well anything involving xcode....
