I don't remember the last time my card actually expired. Normally some asshat clones it and buys something expensive in a state I've never been to and the bank has to send me a new one.

This happens now, but fails because merchants have to pay Visa/MasterCard for the service, so many don't. The ones that do also don't seem to tell their users (for some reason) Source: Thought I could cancel a service by not updating this info, but they kept charging me just fine

I have a feeling that if we get the right people working on this problem they might be able to push it to... needing to manually update everywhere after 6, maybe even 7 year expiry!
