Sadly, no. The Visual Studio installer is riddled with bugs, and they have been reported over and over again and are featured in articles all the time, in every version. (https://www.ryadel.com/en/visual-studio-2017-install-setup-update-stuck-blocked-win10sdk-fix/ …, https://stackoverflow.com/questions/28788574/visual-studio-2015-installer-hangs-during-install …, etc.)

I don't use Windows, but why even use VS? There are alternatives right? I heard about things like MinGW, Msys2, Cygwin, etc... There must be a good reason people use VS, but I honestly don't know... http://blog.johannesmp.com/2015/09/01/installing-clang-on-windows-pt1/ …

I don't use VS. I teach programming so I have to have some of these pieces of crap installed. Same reason Python is on this machine. I haven't used Visual Studio for professional development in like 3 years.

If you let VS installer run for 16 hours, you have deeper problems with the way you understand software and impose your own stubbornness onto your daily life.
