No, this is universally hated.
There’s NOTHING appropriate about Udemy’s pricing behaviour.
Udemy is known to publish stolen courses then takes a long time to reply when reported and I've never heard of the real author being compensated. So why would this be be any different for them? 
This is awful and totally unacceptable, like 99% of the world we live in today.
manipulation is always sketchy and everyone pretends like it's not, even though, deep down, they know it is.

No, I also find it really dodgy. Price is meant to be an agreement on value. If it's changing this fast, they are actually scamming half the people who buy from them. I would even wonder if this is possibly illegal here in Australia.
