[1/3] So, with Windows 10 machines that are plugged into the internet (which you should never do, but if you want to have a gaming PC), I have now _twice_ seen machines that go to sleep and will not wake up without a full power drain.

[2/3] This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen an OS do. You sleep the machine, then when you try to wake it up, it will not respond to anything. Not the peripherals, not the power button, not the reset button, not even _holding_ the power button.

@Jonathan_Blow recently said that Windows was a lost cause unless they put an adult in charge. I don't think one adult is going to do it at this point :( I can't believe how bad Windows has become. NT used to be my favorite OS, and now it is a complete disaster.11 replies 6 retweets 56 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @cmuratori @Jonathan_Blow
In fact it's been a disaster for so long... Peak Windows was probably the middle land between Windows 2000 and Windows XP, although I remember my face when reading the recommended requirements and all the stupid, stupid stuff that shipped with XP. Then Vista, 7, etc, came.

My recollection was: NT 3.51 - Great NT 4.0 - Meh Windows 2000 - Meh Windows XP - Meh Windows Vista - Terrible Windows 7 - Meh Windows 8 - Terrible Windows 10 - Terrible
