Suppose you find a definition that was satisfying to you: encompassing what you want to encompass; excluding what you want to exclude; very consistent with a lot of its ordinary usage; maybe it even looks like it'll incentivize people to be good. (2/5)

Words almost never work that way. Much as we might reasonably desire to give it status, "Art" has (sometimes for good reasons!) become a very vague word. (4/5)

There is a phrase that I think encompasses what you and Jon mean when you talk about this stuff, which is "higher pleasure". In my opinion, it is very important to distinguish higher and lower pleasures. But saying that makes me universally despised :) (5/5)
