Learning/figuring out the strategy is often more fun to me than playing the game knowing the strategy.

For a video game there has to be a balance. Some stuff you want to find out by experiment rather than armchair reasoning. This has been on my mind recently. I think if we knew how to a priori deduce mechanics that have this balance we could make games about new subject matter
