[1/3] It does seem increasingly weird that the tech press never writes about @handmade_hero, despite the high number of people who watch it and the surprisingly large number of people who have gotten jobs from it...

[3/3] The views on YouTube were similar. Top streamer mentioned by
@wired was 271k views. We have 4.6 million. I suppose it doesn't really matter, since the people who need@handmade_hero seem to find it organically, but it is pretty bizarre...Show this thread -
And as an aside,
@handmade_hero got those cummulative 9+ million views without ever running a single ad, and without ever having been written up in any mainstream media outlet even once.Show this thread -
The only articles that have ever mentioned
@handmade_hero at all were a@gamasutra article when we first went live (the only people ever to write about us!), and then we were briefly mentioned in a KillScreen article about low-level programming. That's it. In 5 years.Show this thread

I hear you. At every point in time I’ve mentioned you as the person who inspired me to live stream. It’s in my 2017 article about it. I told the Wired reporter it was you who got me started. I tweeted earlier this year (quoted below) I’m sorry, I truly am.https://twitter.com/noopkat/status/1123641468525002752?s=21 …

No apologies necessary! It's certainly not your fault no one writes about us :) I also noticed that the site Wired mentioned (http://belly.io ) not only lists us, but also lists
@Jonathan_Blow, so folks always seem to mention us kindly _except_ when it comes to the press.

Funny thing is, I came to know of
@handmade_hero when that very streamer from the@WIRED article mentioned you as one of the inspirations for them to get into live streaming code (years ago). -
Have been following ever since and really cherish the depth of the content you put out. Thank you!
