I am a huge advocate of always getting a good night sleep! I can very clearly tell the difference getting even one hour less sleep. There are still over a hundred hours in the week after getting a solid 8 a night.
"Take the swimming advice from Michael Phelps that unrelated, non-distinguished swimmers say you should, but ignore the advice that those swimmers say only applies to people with special natural ability"?

How about: "If Michael Phelps gives you advice that disagrees with pretty much all studies out there, question it" Sometimes people achieve *despite* themselves. It's ok to study things instead of just blindly doing what they *think* gave them success.

The thing being claimed is not that sleeping somehow hurts coding ability, it's just the claim that there might be bigger demons that do more damage.
