So far, I spent about 30 minutes assembling a new dev machine, and about 4 hours trying to make a bootable memtest86 USB. At the latter task I have still not succeeded :(

As I used to do in the old days, I tried creating a bootable Linux USB in a computer that has UEFI and I could not do it without overwriting the boot table of the OS installed in the main disk. In the end it apparently was either not possible or just too complicated.
