No, you keep them full at whatever rate _you can keep them full at_. For many milliseconds at a time.
The new instructions are all I care about in AVX-512 as well. It may be just wishful thinking, but I _feel_ like the instruction set lets me be less up-to-date on my ISA knowledge and still write good code, because more of the operations are natively represented.

Without scatter/gather, masking, etc., a lot of the important parts of a "SIMD'd" workload couldn't be directly translated one-to-one, you had to know what you were doing. It seems like with AVX-512, some of that goes away, and that seems nice!
