It is looking like someone at @microsoft changed IOCPs to make them waitable objects in Windows 10. They weren't in 8-and-prior, and that was bad. Is there some confirmation of this somewhere? This is a very good API change and somebody should get promoted :)

The change was ~RS1 in 2016 AFAIK. But I wouldn't depend on it until it's formally documented. Like don't ship any software that depends on that behavior just yet.

You can't ship software that relies on it yet anyway, since Windows 10 doesn't have sufficient market share. But I hope Microsoft commits to this going forward, because it is definitely "the right thing" (as would making everything support IOCPs, but I digress :)
