To each their own. I like click pads. I wish my current Razer had one instead of buttons. Older MacBooks before they switched to haptics were the best.

I'm curious about this. Trackpads generally give physical click feedback anyway, so I don't really understand what advantage separate buttons give. Unless it's just a problem with trackpad software rather than a true hardware limitation.

I honestly don't like click buttons directly on trackless... Makes the total are we have to use it a lot smaller. Then again, I do use a separate mouse like 80% of the time, so it could be just me... ;)

I probably won't be buying a new laptop for another while yet, so I haven't had to. Dreading it, to be honest. There are actually some nice looking ones out there but sadly they had f'ed up keyboards (tenkey keyboards on laptops are so bizarre - is there a market for that??)
