When I tweet that I need buttons on a trackpad, why do people reply that I don't? Do you really think that a computing professional with thirty years of experience somehow isn't able to reach an accurate conclusion about whether the programs he uses work well without buttons?

I'm currently following @handmade_hero series and looking to buy a laptop to dev on. Other than the trackpad, why do you use Razer Blades?

They were one of the only laptop lines with good GPU performance, nice form factor, reasonable battery life, sensible keyboard layout, and physical trackpad buttons. Next time I buy a laptop, I will have to go look for another brand that still has physical buttons.

I'm on the market for a new one right now and undecided, only decent keyboard and track pad with decent CPU and GPU are Alienwares, but then the looks on those. There are rumours about a 15 inch thinkpad with decent gpu and no numpad in the works

It'd be great to see ThinkPad get back into pro game dev with something like that. The T4x line used to be the go-to for everyone I knew - there are probably old pictures somewhere of me, @checker, @Jonathan_Blow, and Atman Binstock all using them around a table...

I still use a t530 which was the last usable one I guess. But I'm weird and use hardware until it disintegrates.

I would actually love to use a thinkpad, used an x1 carbon for 6 years and it's still running, but it's sad that now I'd pay close to 2k for something with a U could and a 2gb mobile gpu

I have a T570 which works pretty well for my development needs.

Personally, won't get another numpad / offcentered laptop if I can avoid it, wrists are already quite messed up. That's why rumors of a numpad-less 15 inch thinkpad are interesting
