It wasn't just a "font" issue that made the Des Moines Register drop its poll. It was an issue: nobody tested what happens if someone increases their screen font for visibility. isn't "just blind people"; many more have low vision!

"Standards for Writing Accessibly:" tips such as writing chronologically, not spatially. e.g., password help microcopy *after* password field isn't helpful for someone using a screen-reader. | from & 's book, "Writing is Designing"

Reviewing a design brief, regardless of the fidelity of detail at least raises awareness for needs & touchpoints in the development process. This is where the conversation begins. | Great post by Sheri Byrne-Haber in :

Deciding to make your website or app doesn't necessarily mean tearing down your house & starting over. Instead think of it as a remodel or renovation of 1 room at a time. Thx for these resourceful 7 tips to get started!

So I'm faced with a situational scenario and zooming all my websites to 300%. And using Large Text on my iOS. Interesting to see which orgs are/aren't supporting basic for vision.

Scenario: no contacts in at eye doc. Reach for an eye dropper bottle and drop in eye. As it turns out, it's cleaner for lens, not eyes. Warning print was too small to read. Gave myself a little eye burn. Chemical cleaner should be a different shape & size than the rest!?

I was inundated with the 30+ brand colors to review for contrast. Then I found this! Straightforward. You input the hex values & it calculates the contrast ratio w/a WCAG pass/fail. Have you used something like this?

It's my annual "un-overwhelm my e-mail inbox" ritual. I'm accepting Infinite Inbox, not Inbox Zero. Realized I just want to know when specific people email me. I get smart folders and all, but is there a client that provides notifications *only* when smart folders get new emails?
