here's how hard it is. When my daughter had a friend change pronouns, I asked, "Will you help me remember to use 'they,' if I mess up?" (I've not messed up) Daughter: "Of course" that's it. that's how hard it is to respect someone. costs zero.

It also costs nothing to address people by their requested pronouns and names, and keep it moving. It’s so weird that people spend valuable time being upset at it.

adults admitting that they don't have it all figured out and are still defining who they are will help so many teens and young adults have the freedom to even think "what do I want, what do I like"? The impact is huge.

Also knowing that even when you do “figure it out”, there are still some unknowns about what the future is going to be is important. People evolve and refine who they are. It is a continuum and that is a good thing.
