Actually no, I think I want to share a little writing from the project I've been trying to write for a while, because I like it, but I'm curious to know what you think. this is just a peek. first draft, not edited, that sort of thing.

but for right now it would really help me if you helped me get the word out. could you do me a favor and RT or QRT the first post in this thread? Thank you. So much. I'm going to do my best to tell you what it's like and how it's going for me.

But I'd like to write a newsletter, too. I don't know what platform to use for that. I think I need to look into something more complicated than TinyLetter. But yeah. I'm passing the hat to fund my medical treatment. And i'm going to talk about the process in a newsletter.

The tl;dr is this: it's Ketamine assisted therapy, and it's expensive. It's not covered, and I can't pay for it myself. So I'm asking you to help, and I will tell you what it's like. I have a long, diary thread of tweets. the whole thing is here:

Okay what to say? I'm a fantasy writer. I'm also a c-PTSD survivor with depression and anxiety, and I have tried to heal from that for years. I've made good progress, but a lot of it just resists treatment. but there's something I can try, and my P-Doc believes it'll help.

(honestly this Grof webinar is too far on the woo side for me, I think? like it's neat to hear but it's not the kind of information I'm looking for.)

(Also, CRA says that Go Fund Me income is not taxable, everything is fine, so I can set up the account now without having to worry about the tax obligations.)

What i'm noticing when I'm listening to the people who have been in psychedelic research is that they all have to contend with this fuzzy mystical stuff, and the difference in how people respond is so interesting to me! I think I have to be okay with sounding a bit mad

and now Grof is saying that as psychiatry is included in the practice of medicine, and so it tries to use medicine's tools, and that sometimes that approach doesn't work, but pursuing a nonordinary state of consciousness just doesn't fit comfortably within those borders (yeah)

hold on, now we're talking about past life memories? okay. I'm still listening but the grain of salt is on the table. now we're on to archetype models. says yes Jung but also astrology as an archetype set (and I vibe with that honestly, I love a symbol set)

"deeply rooted issues require deep experiential work" (like shamanism. no really he said that.) now he's talking about the trauma of being born, and you know that's a mood but I think it's an example of a negative condensed experience

note to self: look into COEX (condensed experiences,) as that's what they're talking about while I explain that I am *not* a registered charity, just tell me if I have to pay tax on this, please, and if so how much

Stanislav Grof is one of the people who has been in psychedelic research the longest, and he's talking about Nonordinary States of Consciousness and how they have the power to transform their worldview. he says people develop a sense of connection to the world and its people
