The recursion idea I got from a game called Sokosoko by juner: https://juner.itch.io/sokosoko , which was itself inspired by Recursed by @Portponky. (I did come up with the basic nested boxes idea independently of juner though. And my recursion doesn't have a "root" point.)

Thanks! I stumbled upon the nested boxes idea when reviving an old prototype with only 2 layers of it, and added entering/exiting and >2 layers. And I got the recursion idea from Sokosoko by juner https://juner.itch.io/sokosoko which was shown to me by

Thanks for the link! I've already seen it (and rewatched it many times), and I love it. A great emotional take on "a room that contains itself." I also love Steven Universe!

as long as it has more than 1 solution per level, you have my vote. Sokosoko is a great idea

So far most levels have just 1 solution, since they're each about a specific "thing". But they have open spaces, so they don't require each individual movement you make to be perfect.
