    Thanks to for highlighting this issue,we need proper funding for primary &secondary schools across the borough.Costs are rising with inflation etc but funding from Gov has not kept up. Money also needs to be made available to fund the refurbishment of older buildings

    The front page of today's carries the hugely worrying figures for our schools in Bury, Tottington and Ramsbottom and the latest findings from my Save our Schools campaign here

    Well done! And what a shameful act by the Tories. Locally they just voted against our proposal for an extra £500,000 to protect Bury's Children's Centres from further Tory cuts!

    Thanks to our pressure today the Tories have conceded a six month delay and review of the abolition of childcare vouchers. However we won't stop fighting and campaigning!

    It’s been over 2 years since the Boxing Day floods. A huge amount of work has been done and we now have a deliverable scheme to protect hundreds of properties in Radcliffe. All that is required now is funding from government

    Couldn't agree more. In this year's budget 's Labour Group set aside an additional £500,000 to help meet demand pressures in Children's Social Care but continued cuts from central government are making it very difficult to deliver vital services

    I always think there is something slightly surreal about powerful members of the Conservative cabinet asking voters to sign a petition criticising a Tory county council. It is almost as though they see no link between government funding and local government services!

    It was a positive meeting - hoping to hear soon that we will get the funding from Government to unlock the £37m flood defence scheme that will help protect almost 1000 properties in both Radcliffe and Redvales - we appreciated the Minister's time.
