Yes -- my "slightly superior" was somewhat playful. The real news is that psychodynamic therapy is an evidence-based treatment for people with borderline personality disorder, just like DBT.

Es great to hear more evidence on the efficacy of psychotherapy in this group of patients. However, I don't think the difference between psychodynamic therapy and DBT would be significantly different in this study, right? The confidence intervals show a great overlap

That’s right — the big news is that psychodynamic therapy is just about as effective as DBT for this patient population. I think many would have bet that DBT > psychodynamic.

more importantly is this provides evidence that a *sustained* therapy relationship which a client can reflect on their emotions and thoughts & find a different perspective can be helpful for bpd.
