Our latest seasonal forecasts show increased chances of below-normal precipitation for northern S. America, Central Am. and parts of the Caribbean, Maritime Continent, South Asia, and most of Australia. Many of these consistent with historical #ElNino. iri.columbia.edu/our-expertise/

In its latest report, @WMO estimates that a very warm episode of the El Niño phenomenon between now and 2027, will lead to the global average temperature temporarily exceeding the 1.5°C threshold, breaking temperature records.
