10+ degrees F above normal. A mother of ocean heat waves and at least for now an East based event. It can be disastrous to local fisheries off the coast of Peri and Ecuador. The positive impacts of this work will last for years and decades. Great to see the climate training for agricultural extension officers featured. Kudos to IRI staff and partners for the many months of effort they put in to make these trainings so successful!

In its latest report, @WMO estimates that a very warm episode of the El Niño phenomenon between now and 2027, will lead to the global average temperature temporarily exceeding the 1.5°C threshold, breaking temperature records. Listen to @WMO's message here.

🇬🇭 Farmers use climate information to prepare their land, plant, and harvest, but many farmers lack access to this information. AICCRA and @GhanaMet are training extension agents, lead farmers, and radio journalists in #Ghana to disseminate climate information to farmers.
