These schools need guidance to become an authentic, powerful tool for students where they actually learn from the program. The school can teach you the admin side. The baseline for this must be higher.

Still assuming things I see... I recruit very well. Have great retention. And I feel like I have the right to say this, without being pretentious - but my players really appreciate what I do for them.

That's the dream, for me, is esports and gaming in academia. Many students are pushing for its legitimacy and it gets more reputable each day!

Working on the middle/high school side of esports is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever had. Smiles on all the kids faces every time they showed up to weekly tournaments was unbeatable. Hate Covid took that away.

I believe most esports directors do not know how to recruit. For the majority of schools out there the director of esports is someone they found already working for the school and shoved the job onto them.

This one depends on the role the Director was hired to fill. Technically I was hired to create more opportunities for students already on campus. Next I was hired to teach. Only now that both if those are well established do I have the freedom to put more thought into recruiting

In addition, many directors probably just don't know how to recruit. I will admit that I don't. We put out an application that gets 2-300 responses per year, we reach out to applicants to chat with them and see how they do in game scenarios and then we make offers

I think the biggest selling point to colleges to even start the program is the idea of bringing and recuiting students to come to the university. As a director I think that recruiting is my number 1 priority. Without them there is no me....

A world where there is no path to pro, but a path between amateur, collegiate and pro is the perfect place. I'd love to see more jobs opening up within collegiate that are strong possibilities for those with experience to take
