There are a variety of restitutions many of them more effective and less societally costly than mass incarceration. I think financial crimes deserve financial consequences, incarceration being to high a societal burden and too destructive in these instances.

And you made the key point there at the end. The DA should prosecute those that break the law. Circumstances dictate sentencing by the judge or jury. The SF DA has abdicated his responsibility and cares more for criminals than for victims. Get him out immediately.

It’s beyond the scope! But he is bringing new ideas and hold the system hostage to promote them. That is a recipe for the ideas to be rejected by enough people to make the idea irrelevant.
