My personality, for example, is not typical for that of woman. I'm high in disagreeableness, which is more common among men than it is in women. B ut for a person of my disposition, working in a competitive environment is essential. 3/

But it is not for everyone! And that is all that Peterson argues. The idea that competitive occupations (politics, business, etc) should have 50/50 gender parity simply IGNORES the data on personality & occupational preferences between the sexes. 4/

It's completely reasonable to look at current norms around sex, dating & marriage in western socieites & ask if they are maximising the happiness of both men & women. To suggest this is inherently 'misogynist' simply betrays a lack of reading & lack of imagination. 6/

Again, the hit-pieces that keep coming out on Peterson demonstrate 2 things: 1) many journalists cannot interpret cultural phenomena except through an ideological lens and 2) many journalists are simply incapable of consulting empirical literature. End.
