This could also be a great opportunity to recognize all the talented women and other unrecognized folks who were his collaborators on the show and made it what it was.

May not be the best example, but I remember an article about how "cancelling" the Cosby Show negated all the work other artists of color put into that show and the abuse many of them also suffered at his hands. We need to reframe and recenter conversations about the art we love.

RE: the JK Rowling element, I've tried to ask this question of those who are more deeply and personally affected by her words, or Whedon's, where I've asked can they separate the art out, and for those who are most affected, it's much harder. So there is some earned guilt.

The earned guilt is recognizing that some of us will never be targeted or the basis of a famous person's bad opinions and actions. It's guilt of feeling safe while others feel targeted and persecuted by those they used to adore as art creators who seemed good.
