    I struggle with feeling like a burden. My therapist asked me "Do you feel good when you help your friends when they're struggling?" And obviously I said yes so he asked me, "Do you want to deny your friends the chance to feel good by helping you?" That shifted my perspective.

    So very true. My most frustrating debugging sessions have been when I locked myself into a plausible but wrong hypothesis and spent way too much time chasing the phantom.

    we think about debugging as a technical skill (and it absolutely is!!) but a huge amount of it is managing your feelings so you don't get discouraged and being self-aware so you can recognize your incorrect assumptions
