I’m guessing that the new Dune movie will not mention the eugenics program that was the basis of the entire plot of Herbert’s novel and quite a bit of his non-Dune work too? You know the part where Paul is the result of genetic enhancement through breeding? Different times.

So next time you watch a Marvel movie, or the DC stuff, or any of the many other “alternate timeline” media, remember that the multiverse means no one anywhere can possibly be free or truly reason about anything. Thus, the idea of the multiverse undermines its own validity.

Moreover the deterministic nature of each universe means that one could not have thought or acted otherwise than one has, which also destroys morality.

So if a miracle takes place, then that just happens to be the universe in which that particular event happens. Not only is it not unlikely, but because of the infinite multiverse the “miracle” HAD to happen somewhere, purely deterministically for that particular universe

Miracles become just as likely as natural laws. In fact, in the multiverse there is no difference between a miracle and an exceptionless regularity. Each universe in the multiverse is strictly deterministic. There is no way anything that happens in one could not have happened.

The basis of reason is the ability to know what must be, might be, or cannot be the case, based upon patterns and regularities and the gestalt perception of wholes. If anything that can happen does happen and does so an infinite number of times, where does that leave reason?

The idea of the multiverse, now the dominant idea in pop culture, destroys rationality by rendering meaningless any difference between the possible, the probable, and the necessary. Proofs become impossible because nothing can count as evidence.

It’s not enough to have the right intention. You have to have the intention to have the right intention, and that still isn’t enough.

America is not a failed firefighter in Afghanistan. It is one of the main arsonists. It’s really repulsive to read analysis of America’s role there that skips over the fact that the biggest factor in Afghanistan’s ongoing problems is US elite malice right after 9/11.

Early on the US had a chance to allow the Afghan king to become a uniting figure in Afghanistan. It could have worked. They consciously and intentionally blocked it in favor of corrupt Karzai. Any analysis of the history that ignores that fact is just empty nonsense.
