If you're supporting customers that use your product, become the customer. Use the product. Put yourself in the same situations as them.

You have to force yourself into similar situations as others to really understand how it feels to be them. Can't just use your imagination

But how do you do that? You can't only use your imagination. Not to go all Tom Petty, but you don't know how it feels to be someone else.

A really popular piece of advice is to put yourself in someone else's shoes. You're told this is how to develop empathy.
