        Streets in Pittsburgh are named after Chaney and Schwerner. They're adjacent to streets named for Medgar Evers and Viola Liuzzo.

        No, not for my mother-in-law. There’s a marker on the place where she was assassinated, a playground in Detroit, and a street in Italy, but not here, at least not yet.

        I will never forget them, three brave young men, who went to MS. To this day, whenever anyone mentions MS to me, all I can think about is how dark the evil is there, and smell blood.

        My mother went there from NJ to register voters and saw that place. The car she went around in with other folks in order to register voters was shot at. She told me that later when I grew up. I wish she had written a diary.
