It seems govt orgs think #UX is only important for e-commerce, but do so to the detriment of the public they serve.
In 2020, there’s no excuse for UX issues in voting instructions & ballot design as @danachis addressed this years ago.

Unfortunately, the article you cited by
@karaann is filled with inaccurate assumptions and suppositions. The election materials have been extensively tested and thoroughly designed and vetted to be the best they can, given laws, technology, and funding. 1/23 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

@danachis,@whitneyq, and@civicdesign, along with dozens of other UX professionals, have worked closely with election officials across the US. I'm curious where@NNgroup's efforts have been in this area. It would be more professional to learn what work has actually been done.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

There is almost nothing you can say about election design that is true across all 51 states. The policies, how voters get their ballots and how they return them vary widely.

At CCD, we work with best states to improve best practices. And we work with other states to bring them up towards that standard. This year, we have seen big steps forward, including a dozen or more states that redesigned envelopes and other forms/info.

There is still a lot of work to be done. It helps to remember that a sprint for an elections office is a year, not a month. Cheer on the progress. Point out the room for improvement constructively.

I am particularly proud of the work on http://healthyvoting.org We worked hard with a team of legal experts and
@oxidedesign to percent voting options clearly concisely and accurately, with a presentation that doesn't distract or discourage.2 replies 1 retweet 6 likes
Take a look at the Virginia envelopes. Solving requirements for rules and USPS....and voters. https://www.elections.virginia.gov/media/formswarehouse/absentee-voting/ballots/AB-Return-Envelope-w-specs-8-2020.pdf … VA-VBM-Envelope-B-with-Specs-7-2020.pdf
