I’m going to ask a really dumb question: about how many voters are in the Chico area? It’s a good sized college town and 5 voting centers seems like it might not be enough.

Is CA still stuck in the provisional ballot Dark Ages?

Part of VCA is “conditional voter registration,” which is basically EDR.

Will the conditional voters be voting a standard ballot or is it effectively a provisional ballot until eligibility is confirmed?

California already issues far too many provisional ballots that shouldn’t need to be provisional. I’m hoping that will change.

Some should be avoided because of automatic voter registration

Yes, I know I yell about provisionals too much. However, a lot of the provisionals issued in CA are for things that can and should be remedied at a Vote Center or polling place.
