Shadow Moutain tree and limb collection site is now closed. Limbs will be chipped and hauled to the green recycle center. The Shadow Mountain Parking lot will have closures as seen in the map provided. Exercise caution when you are in the area where active work is occurring.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 12:00 PM PST today for far western Nevada. Snow is expected down to valley floors. Travel could be very difficult with major delays during the AM commute. Allow extra time to reach your destination.

A winter storm will affect the area through the AM w/ light rain and snow in western NV. A break between storms occurs in the PM. A strong storm is then expected to bring heavy Sierra snow, strong winds, and a mixture of heavy wet snow and low-elevation flooding concerns Mon-Tue.

! (Who knew the plural of CUL-DE-SAC was CULS-DE SAC?) We generally can't plow culs-de-sac either for the same reasons.

Generally, we can't plow culs-de-sac as they provide low to no snow storage. Doing so could cause large berms blocking fire hydrants, mailboxes, and driveways. Culs-de-sac oftentimes have parked cars in them, which further complicates plowing! Read more: Reno.Gov/Snow
