  9. Happy 148th Birthday Melbourne Town Hall. Did you know the opening of Town Hall on the 9th of August 1870 was celebrated with a Fancy Ball? The menu included six boars’ heads, 12 saddles of mutton, 12 sides of lamb, 250 fowls & half a tonne of ice.
