And really, he has the machinery of the Republican party, the right wing media, and the many, many rich AF people that for some reason think this guy is their man and like what he's doing despite all of what we know now.

I keep seeing pacifying tweets that people want to believe, saying "Trump is too stupid to pull off a coup". It's not just Trump- he's the clown show that won't get out of our heads. He has Bill Barr, Mitch McConnell, Mike Pompeo, Steve Bannon...etc. They're not dumb.

You may be right. But what if you're wrong? You're making a prediction that will probably be conclusively proven or disproven. If disproven, how will you adjust?

I don't think it can be any clearer that there's an attempted coup here. We've been told for months by Trump himself that this is how it was going to go. The attempt is unambiguous. If it fails? Great! I will have been an alarmist at worst. I'm used to being wrong.
