More generally, whatever levers you have to change the course of this, please start using them. If you work at Facebook for example... Fucking do something if you have a conscience. If you have Twitter followers... please denounce this bullshit. Risk alienating a few people.
It's so hard to talk sense when their conspiracies are reinforced every time they swipe their phone. Not just from internet wackos, or Fox News goons, but from the president himself.
I really think personal relations help greatly and I wouldn't dismiss that. I just went through an episode myself. But need to appeal to people to use their levers who work at these organizations as well.
Why are you even reacting to this? Electoral college will vote in a month. And this will be past. What am I missing (very possible I miss something, not living in the US and not a US citizen) ?
Two things: 1. The rule of law only works if you actually enforce it (that hasn't been working at all with the Trump admin so far). 2. The narrative taking hold right now is incredibly dangerous in terms of the country's stability. It can't be ignored.
I guess Trump uses hypnotic suggestion to convince his associates to believe his lies enough. then suggests them to go out and spread. This is an example of what is called law of assumption - to instill a lie, assert its implication. This time and this place, it won’t work.
Plenty of people are believing the lie. Millions. I wouldn't say it's not working yet.
