Couldn’t you also say this happened after the last election but it was the other way around? All my friends had 0 trust after all of the “russia collusion” narratives that played on TV for almost 3 years.

The key difference was the belief that the elections themselves were fair but that there was mind fuckery by Russia. Not just a narrative- fact. And Clinton wasn't refusing to concede and pretending she won even before the votes came in. Big difference. Come on.
