For an film meant to be a work of art, yes of course you are right. Colorizing a Chaplin film would be a crime. But these films are not meant to be artistic statements. Colorizing these kinds of documentary films and photos are invaluable b/c they place us back in their world.

Because I really think I've seen too much extremism and ridiculousness get out of hand the last years to just not say anything. There's an implicit acceptance in staying silent generally. I want to do my part in recentering the conversation.
