Here's a shocker: Yes, I'm aware of the excessive purple and other misplaced colors in DeOldify. There's no shortage of people who can't wait to inform me about this. Either make a better model. Or just carry on and trust me that I've thought plenty about it over two years..
Ideas are cheap. Criticisms are a dime a dozen. Hard work is where actual progress is made. I'm just saying this not because I'm butt-hurt but rather because I just keep seeing this and shaking my head.
It's on a continuum of innocent and not entirely well thought out to trolling.
Tell them if they don’t like it to use “Oldify” instead! (Similarly I set up an Old Ireland in Black and White page for colourisation complainers...)

Mad respect for you, you built something really amazing.
I was asking about this before -- hope I wasn't coming off as critical. I think it's amazing, and the results are realistic enough that I was half-convinced that there was a lot more purple back in the day.
The idea that anyone could have criticisms of your amazing work is beyond me. It’s already improved so much since I first started following you.
