      1/ Random thought: Deep Learning model development has seemed to me to be a lot like cooking. Typical example: Images looking a little strange here? Train on this other loss to tone it down a bit. How much? Until it's done!

      Definitely agree with you on the risk of getting stuck in a rut. I like to use the "trust but verify" approach when it comes to pattern recognition. We have to remember that intuitions can also lead to really wrong and/or terrible things!
