The trick is to figure out what's important and what's not in dealing with old photos to arrive at that "95% percent solution" that takes "5% of the effort".
Yes! I have a bunch of photos but many were taken with poor lighting etc. Any idea if datasets exist of well preserved photos and aged? One idea is: buy very old issues of time magazine and use the digital scans as the target.
We have a lot of our own genuine aged photos (over a million) but not corresponding well preserved counterparts. Not a bad idea that you're suggesting there- quite creative!
