3/ What this means: No more political posts nor trying to change the world with tweets; no more engagement with comments; and no more attempting to make arguments 280 characters at a time that inevitably get taken out of context.

4/ There's a number of things motivating this. Jaron's arguments are extremely persuasive to me, but also there's personal reasons that I'm not going to go into here. Mainly, I simply think social media is breaking brains. It's mental junk food. It's addicting.

5/ I'll stop there because otherwise I'll be contradicting myself with trying to persuade on Twitter. But I simply encourage others to reflect on the state of the world, their own experiences with social media, and then consider if you really need or want that.
