3/ although labor is unappealing to everyone, if you can convert to being an owner and/or investor... guess what... someone will be labor for you. Until machines do most of the repetitive, redundant jobs, there will be a lot of human labor needs. #AI
I got into machine learning thinking we were on that path for everyone (which was motivating). Two things: I don't think the tech is there and won't be for a while and has been oversold; And I think cultural problems (work work work) are what really need to be addressed.
The cultural and societal problems ARE the issue for sure. Technology is amoral inherently; it’s how, we, the makers, develop and deploy it that makes the impact (relatively positive or negative).
There needs to be #universalbasicincome (UBI) if we, as a society, will blaze the path towards #AI replacing jobs. And we will soon. I’m a capitalist at heart, but UBI is a sound idea that helps most people keep some fixed expenses paid... and can be a big help to many.
