3/ I imagine his evolution went something like this: Tried to make money talking about fringe philosophy. Started noticing a few controversial videos started getting a lot more clicks than others. Depending on clicks for money, his brain entered the same nasty feedback loop
4/ that YouTube and Facebook algorithms do: Garbage conspiracy and hate content generates traffic. It's easier if you believe your own bullshit. I suspect he might- a lot of smart people talk themselves into really dumb things. It's easier to do that when it pays.
