You're talking as if they're just all about civilly participating in the "free market of ideas" and being generally rational with a conservative slant. That is far from the truth. Their first rule was "this forum is for serious supporters". On that basis they banned.

Well, yeah. But they also said “if you’re here to debate, try /r/DebateAltRight” (or whatever it was). I once called them out when they were claiming that the civil war wasn’t really about slavery, and cited Mississippi’s article of secession. The result was a conversation.

But that was my point. They created a bubble that they sealed tight. They banned dissent. It wasn't just rudeness. It was if you disagreed. It was bizarre. Evidence already provided. You weren't challenging their god head on in your example.
